CAMCA, the Colorado Association for Municipal Court Administration, is an organization comprised of municipal court employees from around the state dedicated to furthering the professional administration of justice. It is made up of members from courts of all sizes and locations throughout the state.

CAMCA offers classes with skill enhancing training throughout the year as well as motivational meetings and speakers. It also offers information by way of List Serve, a collaborative e-mail system, which provides for assistance and comparison of court policies and procedures.

As a member of CAMCA you will receive legislative updates as well as a subscription to Behind the Bench which is printed tri-annually. There is registration / tuition assistance to those who qualify.

History

The Colorado Association for Municipal Court Administration is a non-profit organization comprised of employees in the field of court administration.

In the winter months of 1969 and 1970 a small group of Denver metro area Municipal Court Clerks and Administrators began to meet informally to discuss issues on managing municipal courts. For the first time these people were able to relate with others who worked in the same field.

The meetings were so successful that the group, of about 20 members, formed the Colorado Association of Municipal Court Clerks and decided to draft a set of bylaws. The bylaws were adopted on June 27, 1970. At this time the first president was elected and the name was changed to the Colorado Association of Municipal Administrators. Subsequently it was changed again to its current name.

CAMCA strives to increase the proficiency of municipal administration.
